RAW BANANA TUK

 RAW BANANA TUK

DESCRIPTION:

Raw Banana Tuk is a simple yet delicious Sindhi-style snack made with raw bananas (plantains), deep-fried twice for that extra crispiness, then tossed in basic spices. It’s perfect as a side dish with dal-rice or as a tea-time crunchy bite!

 INGREDIENTS:

Raw bananas (plantains) – 2

Oil – for deep frying

Salt – to taste

Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

Red chili powder – ½ tsp

Dry mango powder (amchur) – ½ tsp

Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp

Chaat masala – optional (for garnish)

👩‍🍳 HOW TO MAKE RAW BANANA TUK:-

Step 1: Prepare the Bananas

Peel the raw bananas and slice them into medium-thick roundels.

Soak them in salted water for 10 minutes.

Drain and pat dry with a clean towel.

Step 2: First Fry

Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.

Fry the banana slices on medium heat until soft (not crispy yet).

Remove and place them on absorbent paper.

Step 3: Flatten the Tuks

Using a bowl or flat spoon, gently press each slice to flatten it. Be careful not to break them.

Step 4: Second Fry

Reheat the oil on high flame.

Fry the flattened slices again until golden brown and crispy.

Drain on a paper towel.

Step 5: Seasoning

While still hot, sprinkle salt, turmeric, red chili, amchur, and pepper.

Toss well to coat the tuks evenly.

Optionally, sprinkle chaat masala on top.

🍽️ SERVING SUGGESTIONS:-

Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.

Pairs wonderfully with simple dal rice, khichdi, or as a crunchy starter.

💡 TIPS:

Use firm, unripe bananas only.

Always do the second fry on high heat for extra crunch.

You can air fry or bake them for a healthier version.
