INGREDIENTS:-



- 1 cup split red lentils (masoor dal)

- 1 cup split green gram (moong dal)

- 2 cups water

- 1 cup uncooked rice

- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil

- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds

- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder

- Salt, to taste

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1-inch ginger, grated

- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)



INSTRUCTIONS:- 


1. Rinse the lentils and rice together and soak them in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.


2. Heat ghee or oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and coriander seeds, and let them sizzle for a few seconds.


3. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well.


4. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté for 1 minute.


5. Add the soaked lentils and rice, and 2 cups of water. Mix well.


6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes or until the lentils and rice are cooked and mushy.


7. Season with salt to taste.
