INGREDIENTS:-


- 1 cup (200g) all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup (100g) unsalted butter, softened

- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

- 1 egg, lightly beaten (for egg wash)

INSTRUCTIONS:-


1. *Preheat the oven*:-


Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Divide the dough into small balls, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. Flatten each ball slightly into a disk shape.


5. *Brush with egg wash*:-


Brush the tops of the cookies with the lightly beaten egg for a golden glaze.


6. *Bake the cookies*:-


Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space between each cookie. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.


7. *Cool and store*:-


 Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Store the Nankathai in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
