INGREDIENTS:-
*For the keema:-*
- 1 pound minced lamb or beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
*For the paneer:-*
- 250 grams paneer (Indian cheese), cut into small cubes
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt, to taste
*For the gravy:-*
- 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- Chopped cilantro, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:-
1. *Make the keema*:-
Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee or oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the minced lamb or beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Add the diced tomato, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the keema is cooked through.
2. *Prepare the paneer*:-
In a bowl, mix together the paneer cubes, lemon juice, cumin powder, and salt.
3. *Make the gravy*:-
Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee or oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add the all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add the water, whisking continuously, and cook until the mixture thickens. Add the heavy cream (if using) and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Season with salt to taste.
4. *Assemble the dish*:-
