Ganesh Chaturthi Special Motichoor Modak

GANESH CHATURTHI SPECIAL MOTICHOOR MODAK

DESCRIPTION:

Motichoor Modak is a delightful fusion sweet specially made for Ganesh Chaturthi. It combines the traditional favorite modak with the royal richness of motichoor laddoo. Soft, melt-in-the-mouth, and beautifully shaped, this sweet offering is perfect as Naivedyam (prasad) for Lord Ganesha. The saffron-colored boondis, flavored with cardamom and ghee, are shaped into the form of a modak, making it both divine and festive.

MOTICHOOR MODAK RECIPE :-

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup gram flour (besan)

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

2–3 tbsp milk

A few saffron strands (optional)

½ tsp cardamom powder

Ghee for frying

Silver vark (optional, for garnish)

Chopped pistachios/almonds (for garnish)

METHOD:

1. Prepare Sugar Syrup – Heat sugar and water together till sticky (1-string consistency). Add saffron and cardamom powder. Keep aside.

2. Make Boondi – Mix besan with water into a smooth batter. Heat ghee in a pan, pour batter through a perforated spoon (jhar) to make tiny boondis. Fry lightly (don’t make them too crispy).

3. Soak in Syrup – Add fried boondis immediately into warm sugar syrup. Mix gently.

4. Shape into Modak – Grease your palms or use a modak mould, fill with motichoor mixture and shape into beautiful modaks.

5. Garnish – Decorate with chopped nuts or silver vark.

Your Motichoor Modak is ready to offer to Bappa and enjoy with family!
